“Making a Difference, Solving Problem with GIS”
GIS Competition 2019 is a national competition in the geospatial discipline held by the Department of Geographic Information Science, Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This competition is held to test the ability of thinking and spatial analysis of the participants in solving problems using GIS. Through this competition the participant is expected to be able to innovate and provide inspiration to solve various problems and geospatial phenomena with GIS. GIS 2019 Competition consists of problem solving activities as the first stage of selection and continued with the activities of the geospatial data management to the finalists who have been selected from the first stage of selection. The winner of this competition is a team that has accumulated the greatest value from each stage.
Participants Terms
To follow a series of GIS activities Competition 2019, participants must send problem solving utilizing GIS to processing of data, search solutions, and the visualization of results in the form of the report with the specified format. The resulting problem solving must comply with the following themes:
- Environmental Monitoring, Assessment and Conservation.
- Forestry and Land Management.
- Health, Demographic and Statistics.
- Transportation Planning and Management.
- Urban Development.
- GIS for business Planning and Development.
The participant must attach a visualization result of problem solving in the form of an image or a map.
Deadline Submit and Registration: April, 21st 2019 – June, 21st 2019.
Participants of the sender report results problem solving or submitters are required to complete the registration and pay Rp 50.000/team.
10 best participant or finalist allowed to compete in the next stage of GIS Competition 2019 which is Geospatial Data Management. The finalists are also required to present their work and will follow The 6th Geoinformation Science Symposium by paying Rp. 300.000 / person with details of the facilities to be obtained:
